On the Price rule sheet you record a price rule: a document that defines which products change their selling price, when, and at what price or percentage multiplier. A rule can contain any number of items, and each item can target a specific product (by item number), all products of a product category, or the products of a manufacturer.
The statuses of a price rule are: Draft (editable), Closed (final, can be applied), Cancellation and Cancelled (invalidated, cannot be applied). A new rule always starts as a Draft.
The screenshots show the Hungarian user interface; where useful, the Hungarian label is given in parentheses. Some labels, such as “Telephely” (site), appear in Hungarian regardless of the language setting.
Click Main menu / Master data / Price rules / New. The empty sheet opens with the title “Új árszabály rögzítése” (record a new price rule). To open an existing rule, use the Open button in the Price rules list. At the top of the sheet there are three tabs: Actions (Műveletek), Additional functions (Kiegészítő funkciók) and View and layout (Nézet és elrendezés), and the CRM button on the right.
The header fields are in the upper part of the page. Document number, Status and Document date are grey and filled in by the system; you enter the rest:
In the lower part of the sheet, the Items tab (Tételek) lists the items of the rule. The table columns are: Name, Item number, Product category, Product manufacturer, Net unit price and Price multiplier. The tab buttons are New (new item), Open (edit the selected item) and Delete (remove the selected item). In the window that opens with New:
You can add several items to a rule, even of different types and with different pricing.
On the Actions tab there are three button groups:
Prices actually change when, during the validity period of the closed rule, you press the Apply prices button on the Actions tab of the Price rules list.
On the Additional functions tab, the New product, New partner and New task buttons let you create a product, partner or task without leaving the sheet. The Interface and behavior button on the View and layout tab changes the display settings of the screen. The CRM button at the top right opens the CRM side panel, where you can follow the tasks, emails and calls related to the rule.
Below the items table there are more tabs: Internal comment (a note visible only inside your company), Settings (among others the billing address), Related documents, Tasks, Files (attached documents) and Custom fields (extra data tailored to your company).
To give your wholesale partners a 10% discount on all products of one manufacturer: create a rule with the subject “Wholesale discount”, choose the wholesale type in Partner type, add a Product manufacturer item in Percentage price mode with the List price base and a multiplier of 0.90, then close the rule. After Apply prices only the price list row of the wholesale partners changes; the prices of other partners remain untouched.

| Price multiplier | The multiplier of percentage pricing: 1.10 = +10%, 0.80 = -20%. |
Fields and items can be edited only in Draft status. After Close the rule becomes Closed and can no longer be modified. If something has to change, make a copy with Delete and copy or with the Cloning button in the list, and edit the copy.
The two fields decide which price list row has its selling price changed. If both are Valid for all, the rule overwrites the general price list row of the product. If you choose a partner type and/or a site, only the matching row changes, and if no such row exists yet, the system creates it (with percentage pricing only if the general row providing the base price exists). Learn about the price list in the Itemized price list guide.
Direct price is a fixed net amount that the rule writes to the price list identically for every affected product. Percentage price is calculated per product: the chosen base price (Purchase price, Cost price or List price) is multiplied by the price multiplier and the exchange rate. If a product has no general price list row with the base price, a percentage rule cannot create a new row, so the product must appear in the price list first.
A price rule changes the selling price and currency in the price list; it does not change the promotional price fields entered on the product sheet. The result is visible in the Itemized price list.
Check that the required fields are filled in: Validity start, Validity end, Currency, Currency rounding for gross selling prices and Subject. A red validation message appears at the missing field. Only a rule in Draft status can be closed.
All rules are shown in the Price rules list. The Apply prices button is also there, on the Actions tab.
The Price rules module appears under Main menu / Master data only if it is assigned to your user. If you cannot see it, ask your system administrator to check the module assignment in your user settings.
