Currencies

The master list of the currencies you can use in Logzi: name, ISO 4217 currency code, sign, default currency and rounding.

Function overview

On the Currencies page you manage the currencies in which you can issue documents. For each currency you enter its name, international code, sign and default rounding.

  • ISO 4217 code: the international three-letter code of the currency.
  • Default currency: you can mark which currency is the default.
  • Rounding: choosing a default rounding is required for every currency.

Step by step

1. Opening the page

Click Main menu / Settings / System settings / Currencies. At the top you see the New, Open and Delete buttons, below them the list with the ID, Name, Currency code - ISO 4217, Jel (Sign) and Default columns. Click a row to select the currency. The screenshots were taken in the Hungarian interface.

2. Adding or editing a currency

Click New, or select a row and click Open. On the Actions tab of the window that opens, below the Save and Close buttons, enter the Name (at least 2 characters), the Currency code - ISO 4217 (at least 3 characters) and the Jel (Sign) field, set Default (Yes or No) and choose the Default rounding. To choose the currency code, the link in the window leads to the ISO 4217 page on Wikipedia. Finally click Save.

3. Deleting a currency

Select the row and click Delete. Do not delete a currency that is already in use, because the related documents and exchange rates refer to it.

Tip

The default rounding applies in most cases. On document types where a payment method can also be chosen, the currency and payment method pair set on the Currency roundings page overrides it.

You can set the rounding rules on the Currency roundings page.
You can record the daily exchange rate of the currencies on the Exchange rate page.

Frequently asked questions

The Name (at least 2 characters), the Currency code - ISO 4217 (at least 3 characters), the Jel (Sign) and the Default rounding are required. Check that all of them are filled in.

You can find the ISO 4217 code on Wikipedia by clicking the link on the currency form.

The list consists of the roundings created on the Currency roundings page. Create a rounding there first, then choose it at the currency.

It is not recommended, because documents already issued and exchange rates refer to it. If you do not use it, you can remove it with the Delete button.

The menu item is located under Main menu / Settings / System settings. If you do not see it, your user probably does not have the required permission; ask your administrator to check the settings.
