Compensation analytics

An analysis of the compensations: payment methods, payment discipline (DSO, DPO), partners and audit.

Function overview

Compensation analytics shows how much of your invoices has been settled and how: the amount received and paid, the payment methods used, how well your customers pay on time, how well you pay your suppliers and where a suspicious or faulty compensation is. The page is view-only.

The data is split into five tabs: Overview, Methods, Payment discipline, Partners and Audit.

Step by step

1. Open the page

Click Main menu / Cash register / Compensation analytics (you find it in the Analytics group). The Overview tab opens with the amount of the Compensations, the Incoming payments and the Paid invoices, the number of the Settled documents, the Average compensation and monthly charts.

2. Filter

On the Search tab enter the Document date period and, if needed, the Partner company name and the Employee filter, then click Search. The filter stays active on every tab.

3. The payment methods

On the Methods tab the Split by payment method shows whether the compensations were made through a cash or bank item or with a direct payment method.

4. The payment discipline

The Payment discipline tab has two groups: the receivables (outgoing invoices) and the payables (incoming invoices). Days sales outstanding (DSO) shows in how many days your customers pay, Days payables outstanding (DPO) shows in how many days you pay your suppliers. Next to them you see the Paid on time ratio, the Average delay and the number of invoices Paid in advance, below them the Distribution by delay chart and the lists of the slowest and the fastest paying partners.

5. Partners and audit

The Partners tab lists the largest partners by compensation. The Audit tab collects the suspicious cases: Different paid amount, Overpaid invoices, Orphan cash reference, Compensation without document and Removed compensations.

Tip

If the Paid on time ratio is low or the Average delay grows, start a payment demand for the slowly paying partners or ask for a shorter payment deadline.

You can read about recording the compensations in the Settlements list guide and about handling late payers in the Payment demand analytics guide.

Frequently asked questions

A negative value appears if the customers paid before the invoice date on average, for example because of advance invoices or prepayment. This is not an error.

There is no compensation in the selected period or the filters are too narrow. Widen the Document date period and clear the other filters.

The Main menu / Cash register / Compensation analytics item appears only if both the analytics module and the compensation module are assigned to your user. If you cannot find it, ask your administrator to enable it.
