Print templates define what a printed or PDF document looks like. Here you can create, edit and delete HTML-based templates for each document type.

Print templates define what a printed or PDF document looks like. Here you can create, edit and delete templates for each document type.

  • Template: HTML code that defines the appearance of the document.
  • Document type: sets which kind of document the template belongs to.
  • Orientation: the document can be printed in portrait or landscape format.

Step by step

1. Opening the page

Click Main menu / Settings / System settings / Document print templates. Above the list you will find the New, Open and Delete buttons. The table columns are Name, Document type and Default. The screenshots were taken in the Hungarian interface.

2. Creating or editing a template

Click New, or select a row and click Open. On the Actions tab fill in Name, Default (Yes/No), Document type and Orientation (portrait or landscape), then enter the HTML code of the template in the Template (HTML code) editor. Use Save to save, or Close to close the window without saving.

3. Deleting a template

Select the row you want to remove, click Delete and confirm the action.

Tip


Set only one default template per document type, and before changing a live template, create a new one by copying the old code so you can always go back to it.

Field description

The following fields are available when editing a template.

Frequently asked questions

The default template marks which print template is the primary one for the document type. It is best to mark one default template per document type.

It sets whether the printed page is portrait (taller than wide) or landscape (wider than tall).

As HTML code in the Template (HTML code) editor. The field is required and must contain at least 2 characters.

Before deleting, assign another template to the document type on the Document type page, otherwise printing the affected documents may not work as expected.

The menu item is located under Main menu / Settings / System settings. If you cannot see it, you probably do not have permission, so ask your administrator to enable it.
